Hip Hop Hooray!

It’s that time of year… bunny love time! Hooray!

Rabbit by Susan B. Anderson.

This perfectly adorable stuffed bunny is knit in Spud & Chloë Sweater. For extra fun, try stuffing Rabbit with a tennis ball so that  he really hops, too!

Here’s another fun project that has a surprise: at first glance, you might think that this is just an ordinary bunny knit in Spud & Chloë Sweater.

Mini-Reversible Duck to Bunny by Susan B. Anderson.

Mini-Reversible Duck to Bunny by Susan B. Anderson.

However,  he turns into a duck to the delight of all! More than meets the eye, this project is a good introduction to the world of knitted topsy-turvy toys.

Bunny Hat & Blankie by Susan B. Anderson

The Bunny Hat & Blankie is a quick crochet project in Spud & Chloë Outer. With fun new brights and sweet and airy pastels, this is a great project to personalize for new little people in your life.

Now it’s time to “hop” to it! The holiday will be “hare” before you know it!

Pequeña Tortuga

Tuck in Spud & Chloë Sweater

When I found out I was going to be a first-time Auntie, I was pretty darn excited! I got knitting right away (and haven’t stopped knitting wee things since).

In the beginning, not knowing whether a niece or nephew was on the way, I decided to channel my energies toward gender-neutral projects. And our oh-so-adorable Tuck turtle pattern was my first choice. (Really, who could resist him?)

Tuck… all tucked in.

This little toy is cleverly constructed so that all of Tuck’s little appendages “tuck” in–just like a real turtle. He knits up super-quick in cottony soft Spud & Chloë Sweater and will be durable for small fingers to pull legs out over and over.

Tuck turned over.

Inspired by my brother’s real-life turtles, Mikey and Donna, I went with more realistic colors from the Sweater palette; dark green Chipmunk (#7511) and (appropriately) Turtle (#7514).

Tuck from the top.

I think my Tuck turned out fantastic. I really liked playing with the embroidery on top of the shell. Oh, and did I mention that I was the first person to have a baby gift for the soon-to-be-parents? They both think Tuck is pretty sweet too.

Knickers for Chloë – Free Pattern

Hi Spud & Chloë Friends,

I have wanted make Chloë a quick pair of knickers ever since I knit her a few years ago. This week I was determined to do just that. I whipped up a simple undergarment for Miss Chloë that is specifically shaped for her round little body and skinny legs that sit at the front. She has a bit of an unusual shape, cute as it is. It took several tries to get it just right but I am very pleased with the outcome.

I am delighted to share the pattern for Knickers for Chloë with you today. That Chloë is getting quite a sweet wardrobe. It is fun to add a little something here and there for her.

The knickers could be made in many different colors of Sweater. If your Chloë doll is for a child I know they will enjoy an undergarment or two to dress her with. I don’t know if you have noticed but one of the first things kids do when they get a doll is to see what is underneath the clothes. This is a universal phenomenon. Now Chloë is covered!

Here are some things you might like to know:

Yarn: Spud & Chloë Sweater in Igloo #7517, 1 hank (only a small amount is needed)

Needles: US 7 dpns

Gauge: 5 sts per inch in stockinette stitch

Have fun with the Knickers for Chloë pattern!
