Outer Update!

Brights, braids and big hair?

Libby makes Outer look great!

This amazing wig by one of our designers, Cheryl Nelson, is made using Spud & Chloë Outer in Rocket (7211). Libby, our model, rocks this look! Soon, models will be strutting the look on the TNNA catwalk!

It’s going to be so extreme!

The four new colors of Spud & Chloë Outer

First, we have Fearless (7218)! A bright, bold yellow. A shade of acidic pear, this is my absolute favorite. I have big plans in this color, just you wait and see!

Next up is Buoy (7219)! An intense, punchy orange. Like the perfect shade of a slightly faded life jacket. Remember when we discussed the 2012 color of the year Tangerine Tango? It was an excellent point of inspiration.

Then we have Sugar Plum (7221)! This is a complex, deep and rich plum. Moody and brooding like gray. Regal like a jewel tone. This color will surprise you in the best way possible. We just know you are going to love it.

Last, but not least…Rhino (7220)! This gray is silvery and floaty. Light enough to look like a little slice of perfection when combined with the other colors of the Outer palette, but still a color strong enough to stand on its own. We want to put it with everything!

New Outer Designs

Are you already thinking of projects to make with the new colors? The whole Spud & Chloë gang is!

Just to let you know, we have new Outer patterns too! To whet your appetite we have The Wendy Sweater, the already released and free Dogwood Set, and Situpons!

The new Outer colors and patterns in the awesomesauce Spud & Chloë Fall 2012 Collection will be available at your favorite LYS by the end of June!

Esther's Tunic by Kristen Tendyke

A casual, fun knit Esther’s Tunic has minimal shaping and is knit all in one piece.

Great for layering, this tunic can stand alone as a tank or be worn with a jacket or gauzy peasant top.

Knit in Spud & Chloë Sweater, this tunic is inspired by the maillots of yesteryear.

It’s easy to see on these bathing beauties where the vintage-inspired Esther’s Tunic began.

No matter which combination of Spud & Chloë Sweater you choose, Esther’s Tunic will inject a playful, sporty vibe into any wardrobe.

Folk Story and Giveaway

The Folk Story from the Spring 2012 Collection

The past few weeks have been filled with Melissa fun: her Swell Cowl pattern and an interesting interview. Today, we are talking about her design from the Spring 2012 Collection, the Folk Story Cardi.

This sweater is feminine and flattering to a myriad of body shapes. The lace is uncomplicated, especially worked in Sweater. Lace always seems less daunting worked in thicker weight yarns.

Another detail to take note of; this sweater is worked from the bottom-up with minimal finishing when the knitting is all done.

Sweater is also available in three new colors:

Chocolate Milk (7524), Lilac (7523), and Manatee (7525) are really lovely. It’s great to round out the Sweater palette with some more rich neutrals and the Lilac is sweet and light for Springtime.

To start Spring off on the right foot and end all our Melissa fun with a bang, we would like to give three lucky Spud & Chloë Pals all the yarn and the pattern to make their very own Folk Story Cardi! Leave a comment on this post (one per person please) telling the Spud & Chloë Gang what your favorite part of Spring is. We will pick our three winners Monday.

Happy Weekend Pals!

Springtime and the Livin’ is Easy

Hi Spud & Chloë Pals!

Did you know that there are only 34 days until the official start of Spring? It is easy to notice this change happening around you. The whole Gang has noticed, we arrive home at night before it is completely dark, the sun just about to set. The sunshine makes us wish for bright colors, lightweight fabrics and warm breezes. A sweet warmth to sit outside and knit in. And what project would be more delightful for Springtime than the Easy Tee?

The Easy Tee knit in Spud & Chloë Fine Dolphin 7821

The Easy Tee, designed by Amy Miller is just right for Spring for so many reasons. The bright palette of Spud & Chloë Fine has over twenty colors to choose from. The smooth fabric it produces will be wearable all Summer long because Fine is a blend of superwash wool and silk. And just like Spring, when the livin’ should be easy, the knitting is too! The Easy Tee is knit in one piece and it only takes two simple seams to have your very own. This piece is so straightforward that is begs to be a canvas for customization. How about knitting the Tee in Snorkel (7809) with thin stripes of Popcorn (7800) a nautical and fresh look! How will you make your Easy Tee personalized?

A Leaf for All Seasons

Well Spud & Chloë Pals, it has been a few weeks since we released our Spring 2012 Collection. Have you had the opportunity to peruse the catalog? I love the moment when the precise page is turned that elicits coos of delight.

We adore how this leaf envelops a wee little person.

The Leaf Blanket, designed by Susie Anderson has put the cuteness quotient through the roof! Knit in Spud & Chloë Outer on size 15 needles with just four hanks, this project is sure to be a quick-knit. Quick and adorable; pleasing to new Moms and Dads while enchanting Grandmas and Grandpas.

This is certainly a playful twist, not just another baby blanket. A homemade gift that will be treasured.

The perfect baby shower gift, I would bring a Hedge (7210) Leaf Blanket for spring time, Cedar (7209) for autumn and Snow Day (7216) for winter babies.

Time to start one today! It would be so great to be all ready the next time a friend or family member is expecting. Now, which color to choose…
