Franken-Pattern!

A gift for a dear friend.

I wanted to make a just right gift for my friend, Amy. She works in an office and is a bit of a coffee addict–there is always a nearly full mug on her desk! Inspired by the coffee cozy I had made for myself, I decided to make one for Amy and the mugs she typically uses, but with some twists…

The button closure for my mug cozy.

Thus, the Franken-pattern-mug-cozy was born.

Knit in Spud & Chloë Sweater Life Jacket because Amy’s favorite color is orange, I tweaked things here and there, used a few numbers from this or that pattern, grabbed a fantastic button out of my button stash, used a coffee mug from my house for testing…and now it is aliiiiive!

The perfect, Amy-inspired custom mug cozy. I really love how it turned out and hope Amy does, too.

Oh Charlie…

The chill is in the air. Weekend plans have switched from festivals and barbeques to snuggling on the couch with a movie and knitting. Making soup and planning a trip to the apple orchard. The Charlie Sweater is a great sweatshirt-like sweater your significant other will love to wear as you crunch through leaves and pick the perfect pumpkin. They should be given a warning though…this sweater is totally cozy and totally steal-worthy.

A Fall Leaf

When the Leaf Blanket was originally published, my mind couldn’t help but wander to all the possibilities. With the chill in the air this past weekend, I was itching to cast on something ultra cozy, so I immediately thought of the Leaf Blanket in sweet Spud & Chloë Outer!

I don’t have any wee ones on the way, but this speedy knit will wait for the next little one. It completely satisfied my cozy-knit-need and looks perfectly October in Cedar #7209.
