The past few weeks have been filled with Melissa fun: her Swell Cowl pattern and an interesting interview. Today, we are talking about her design from the Spring 2012 Collection, the Folk Story Cardi.
This sweater is feminine and flattering to a myriad of body shapes. The lace is uncomplicated, especially worked in Sweater. Lace always seems less daunting worked in thicker weight yarns.
Another detail to take note of; this sweater is worked from the bottom-up with minimal finishing when the knitting is all done.
Sweater is also available in three new colors:
Chocolate Milk (7524), Lilac (7523), and Manatee (7525) are really lovely. It’s great to round out the Sweater palette with some more rich neutrals and the Lilac is sweet and light for Springtime.
To start Spring off on the right foot and end all our Melissa fun with a bang, we would like to give three lucky Spud & Chloë Pals all the yarn and the pattern to make their very own Folk Story Cardi! Leave a comment on this post (one per person please) telling the Spud & Chloë Gang what your favorite part of Spring is. We will pick our three winners Monday.
Happy Weekend Pals!

Warmer weather and more light!
Favorite part of spring is the nice weather and longer daylight.
My favorite part of Spring is helping our bees to get ready for the spring pollen and nectar flow.
My favourite part of Spring is the longer days!
Here in CA, it’s the orange blossoms. When I lived in the Midwest, it was the melting of snow.
My favourite part of spring is the warming temperature! Thank you for the giveaway!
My favorite thing about spring is the awakening of the earth; her smell is as fresh as a newborn baby; her soft sounds of birds chirping are so sweet to my ears; and to my eyes she buds every tree, every bush and gently nudges every flower to awaken with her…. And when she does so, she awakens my soul as well. This is what I love most about spring.
