Come knit Chloë with me!

Hi Spud & Chloë Friends,

The time has come to start our Chloë knitalong. I promised I would open a thread on our Ravelry group, Friends of Spud & Chloë, in mid-July. That day is here. I will be on the thread answering questions and just sharing in general. Feel free to ask questions on here as well.

Click here to see the Chloë knitalong thread on our Ravelry group!

The pattern is found in Spud & Chloë at the Farm. The yarn is Spud & Chloë Sweater. You will need one hank each of Toast, Firecracker and Splash. I used US size 5 and 7 double-pointed needles but be sure to check your gauge as specified in the book. You will need some stuffing and embroidery floss, too.

For more information and to see more finished Chloës click here!

I have a fun little Chloë-related pattern up my sleeve once we get going with the knitalong. I am planning a couple of helpful videos for you, too. I want to show you how I do the hair for sure. I get a lot of questions about that and I think a video would be a good thing.

Please let me know if you are joining in and if you have already knit your own Chloë please share her with us. I’m really excited to get our Chloë knitalong going.

I’ll be back soon with more…

I am so excited to be a part of this knit-a-long group to knit up a Chloe doll! I recently got the book, “Spud & Chloe at the Farm” in the mail. I still need to go out and buy the required yarn and dpn’s. I cannot wait to get started!!! When will it begin?

I just got the book, and I’m going to do the Chloe’ last. I’m making the farm for my soon to be niece or nephew. My sister and her husband are adopting someone between 18 months and 6 years and I’m SO excited. I’m waiting to see what the new wee one looks like, so I can adjust Chloe’s hair, skin and possibly gender to match the newest member of the family. I’ll follow along for all the tips I can get for making mine.

    Delightful patterns!

I am planning on knitting the Spud and Chloe set for a friend’s daughter and would like to include the charming story that goes with the set. Would it be alright to photocopy the story from the back of the book?

    • July 20, 2011 at 9:45 am sanderson says:

According to the law it is not alright to photocopy and share copyrighted materials. How fun that you are making the set for your friend’s daughter:) What a lucky girl to have you.

I know the copyright laws say No to photocopying, but didn’t know about this story in particular. What would be your suggestion for sharing the story. I sure don’t want to cut up my book and may , over the years, make more than one set of Spud and Chloe. Spud cracks me up!!

          Hi Donna,

I am afraid that because of copyright you won’t be able to reproduce the story in any way. Maybe you could tell the story in your own way to the little one yourself or tell the background of the characters to your friend who could have fun telling a story.

            Thanks for the great ideas.

The only legal solution would be to purchase another copy of the book to give with the set:)

I’m sick of the notion that anyone famous (most are rich, that goes with the famous part) isn’t allowed to comment on national affairs and current events. You are allowed to have an opinion that is counter to your bank account. Middle class and poor Republicans do it all the time at the voting booth.
