Hi Spud & Chloë Friends,
I am bringing you a sneak peek at my almost completed Spud & Chloë free pattern project. He is a little turtle named, Tuck.

This is such a fun project that I think you will really enjoy. I like the turtle for a different spring-themed type project. A turtle can be spring-like, right? I think so.
Now, Tuck is not finished yet in these shots. There is going to be an added twist for extra-fun. Thinking about his name you may be able to venture a guess as to what the added feature might be. I’ll keep you in turtle suspense for now.

If you are interested in making Tuck for yourself or a friend or family member you should gather up some Spud & Chloë Sweater in Turtle #7514 and Grass #7502 , a little stuffing, poly-pellets if you like but not necessary and a set of US size 6 dpns. Maybe a little black embroidery floss and a yarn needle, too. You will be ready to roll as soon as I get this pattern whipped into shape.
I may be pattern writing on the plane to Philly and NYC so be patient with me. I have another cute project waiting in the wings for the following free pattern. It should be a good month of March around here.
I gave away a bunch of Spud & Chloë yarn and patterns and my Hop pattern from Blue Sky Alpacas last night at the Milwaukee Knitting Guild and they loved it!! And I love giving Spud & Chloë stuff away so it was fun all-around. I love talking about Spud & Chloë and touting all of the wonderful yarns and patterns everywhere I go. What a fun job I have.
Thanks for coming last night if you were there! I’ll be back soon with the pattern for Tuck!

Oh, yay! My sister used to love turtles when we were small – if we spotted one trying to cross the road, she’d always make us stop & carry it to safety to the side it was trying to reach – so I’d love to make her a little turtle friend.
How cute is THAT!? So excited to see the free pattern!
Tuck is darling. Can’t wait for the finished pattern. I think I am going to go online and order my Spud and Chloe yarn right now.
Can I guess? I think his head will tuck in. Can’t wait to see!
LOVE this little guy! Can’t wait to get him on my needles! The colors are terrific, too…
How cute!
Tuck? Can’t figure out that added feature yet…
O my word, that is precious! I cannot wait to get him on my needles! Really, your voracious creativity amazes me. How on earth do you keep coming up with so many beautiful projects? When are you coming to Texas to display your talent ?
So super cute!
I’ve been crocheting up little Amigurumi turtles for a fundraiser and I might have to give this one a try too!

Thanks or doing a turtle – my favorite animal. I still help them across the road.
So cute – bought the yarn for egg/bird/nest at Nina and just started knitting that up and next how about “Tuck” — mmmm I’m thinking he/she will fit in the palm (much like the egg) then viola untuck and Tuck the turtle is here. This may be the first time it is hard for me to give these away to the special little ones. May have to knit two sets. Now, I see why all us big kids are loving these toys.
Wow! I will knit it for sure. I’ve got over 200 turtles in my collection. Tuck will have his place.
Tuck is so adorable!! I can’t wait for the pattern
Susan, so nice to meet you last night! Neave was reading your book today and showing me the things you made that she liked
I feel special to have seen “Tuck” and all his tricks
Too cute! I’m betting he legs and head will tuck inside somehow. Can’t wait for the pattern.
Oh, my gosh, he is soooo cute. I’m a preschool teacher, and am certain that I can incorporate him into my curriculum. So very excited to get my hands on the pattern. Thanks so much.
With a name like Tuck, and having a toddler, I bet he’ll have a cape! lol
Oh my goodness, what a darling turtle.
So cute, can’t wait to see the pattern, have the perfect friend in mind for this little Tuck!
Hi Martin,
I think this is a good approach. But there’s this question running through my mind right now.
Do you consider user stories that still have bugs finished? In other words, can a user story be completed with still having bugs? Do you create new engineering tasks per bug, or are it different user stories? Sometimes bugs can take up to weeks to be solved and that will greatly influence your velocity.
