Getting to Know You

Chloë: What’s the matter Spud?

Spud: I’m an introvert.

Chloë: What?

Spud: I’m nervous.

Chloë: Don’t worry ‘bout a thing…everyone’s going to love you as much as I do.

Spud: What’s not to love, right?

Welcome to Spud Says, the official blog for Spud & Chloë. I can’t wait to get to know all of you Spud & Chloë yarnies. Before we get down to the business of knitting and crocheting let’s introduce the meat and potatoes of the Spud & Chloë line, the yarn, of course.

Meet Sweater.
Sweater is a worsted weight yarn at 4-5 stitches per inch on US sizes 7-9 or 4.5-5.5mm needles. It is 55% superwash wool and 45% organic cotton. Each skein is 100 grams and has 160 yards/146 meters. This is the squishiest, softest, richest worsted weight you will ever meet. So, hello!

Meet Fine.
Fine is a sock or fingering weight yarn at 7-8 stitches per inch on US sizes 1-3 or 2.25-3.25mm needles. It is 80% superwash wool and 20% silk. Each skein is 65 grams and has 248 yards/227 meters. A dash of silk blended in with the superwash wool gives Fine a bounce and loft that makes it an irresistible choice. It’s perfect for your socks or shawls or any other lightweight knitting. Hello to you, too!

Meet Outer.
Outer is our super bulky weight yarn at 2-3 stitches per inch on US sizes 11-15 or 8-10mm needles. It is 65% superwash wool and 35% organic cotton. Each skein is 100 grams and has 60 yards/55 meters. Outer is the perfect warm, cozy, quick knit choice for anything from a fast pair of mittens to a funky pillow for your couch or maybe even a speedy hat that you can whip up in an hour. Greetings!

Oh, I am sure it will be in Madison somewhere. The Knitting Tree on Monroe St. for sure carries Blue Sky so most likely it will carry Spud & Chloë!

    I’ll keep my eye out!
    Thanks for writing.
